Summary0003042: OpenGL Hardware acceleration with AMD(Ati) cards results in subpar performance.
DescriptionOpenGL with this system which is an [AMD quad core @ 2.05 ghz 8 gigs ram, AMD R7 370 Nitro Edition 4gig vram pci 3x @2x] is equal to if not worse than the performace I got on my single core Pentium 4 system running a 256 meg graphics card on AGP. Performance is only slightly better than software acceleration by 0000012:0000020 fps across the board topping out at 200 when there's no monsters on screen. In moderate or heavy monsters it drops down to 20-30 fps. I'm not even talking chillax heavy, any map with 30+ monsters in a group causes framerate slowdown.

This system runs Warframe seamlessly at almost max settings, League of Legends at max settings, Rift at max settings, pretty much everything except Zandronum. I understand this system isn't fantastic but it's head and shoulders better than my P4 rig, why is the performance so bad?
Steps To ReproduceNot really sure aside that I'm told this is an inherent problem with not properly supporting AMD(ATI) graphics cards.

Is the performance in 3.0 any better for you? It has a newer version of the GZDoom renderer compared to Zandronum 2.1.2.

I will try it out later tonight when I get the chance and let you know.

It doesn't seem to make any difference which version I use it still looks no faster than software, almost like nothing is hardware accelerated even when opengl is selected.

In fact, this is my home machine - AMD @2.0GHz, 4GB RAM, and NVidia as a display adapter (nothing special, passive cooling etc.)
There are Win XP installed instead of Win 7.
I tried to run Zandronum 3.0 with Open GL @max resolution, using "doom.wad" and everything was smooth and fine.
So at least HW is capable enough. If I can help further, just let me know.

The issue isnt that it's not playable, its that performance is not what it should be for a quad core CPU with such a good video card. OpenGL Renderer lists the R7 but performance is equivalent to the R3 on the APU. I triple checked in CMOS and PCIE is the preference. Theres no way to force disable the onboard, but like I said, it shows that it's using the R7 370 Nitro edition for everything. Map 26 in AV for example has always dogged my P4 rig, THIS pc with win7 64bit does not a single bit better and I dont understand how that could be unless Zandro is somehow not using full acceleration from the R7. If I can provide any further details that may help just tell me what to look for.
