CTF Tendency Monthly #1

Introduction
Hello! If this is the first thread you're seeing about the new Tendency CTF series, I recommend you to read this thread first! I decided to start counting from 1 again because, well, these are new beginnings any way you look at it. It's good to see you again!
Format
The tournament follows a double-elimination system, which means that teams remain active in the tournament until they lose two games.
Teams
The tournament utilizes a snake draft system, where captains pick players out of the free agency pool to fill their teams' rosters. The captain who picks first in the 1st round picks last in the 2nd round, and so on. Teams have 3 spots, so captains must pick two players to fulfill their roster. The captains will be selected by hand out of the players who signed up (those who wish to captain will be given higher priority), to ensure that more skilled, reliable and smart players are given the opportunity to lead their teams. The draft will take place on IRC (@ #zandroctf), and captains must announce their picks through there.
The amount of teams that will participate in the tournament is directly proportional to the amount of players who attend to the event. There is no rule against odd amounts, so it is possible to have 5 or 7 participating teams.
Maps
The map pool for the tournament is comprised of 5 maps from the IDL201X wad, which you can get right here.
Each round has a duration of 5 minutes and a score limit of 3 flags.
Each game follows a best of 3 system. The team that is placed higher in the brackets picks the 1st map out of the pool, while the lower team picks the 2nd map. A team is victorious once they win 2 rounds or more wins than their opponent after 3 rounds. If a 3rd round must be played, the team that is placed lower in the brackets removes one of the 3 remaining maps from play, then the higher team does the same. The last remaining map is then played. If there is still no clear winner, subsequent rounds will be played on the 3rd-round map until one of the teams wins.

Sign-up period: Friday, January 29th to Saturday, February 6th @ 7:00 PM EST.
Event date: Saturday, February 6th.
6:45 PM EST - Recommended checkout time.
7:00 PM EST - Draft starts on IRC at #zandroctf. All participants must make themselves available before then or they will not be added to the free agency.
7:15 PM EST - Draft ends, and the 1st game starts.
10:00 PM EST - Probable deadline for the tournament's ending.
Server
The games will happen in a Funcrusher+ (New Jersey) server hopefully hosted exclusively for the event. If I can't get ahold of AlexMax until then, we'll borrow the priv/scrim server or something.
Other info
The brackets for the tournament will be regularly updated at http://challonge.com/ctf_tm1 as games are played. Also, the IRC channel where all things related to the tourney will be discussed, and where the draft will take place is #zandroctf at Zandronum IRC.

- Every participating team must send at least one demo from any of their players covering the games played after the tournament ends. Disqualifications may apply otherwise.
- Trading players between two teams is not allowed.
- Trading players between a team and the free agency, on the other hand, is allowed, but can only be done once.
- If a team is unable to show themselves when their next game comes up, it will automatically count as a loss for them, which means they will either be sent to the loser's bracket or knocked out altogether, depending on their placement.
